We thought Joshua would enjoy the dinosaurs in the Natural History Museum, but he was afraid of them.
This is the courtyard for the American Art Museum / National Portrait Gallery. Because of the glass ceiling, it feels like you are outside. Joshua had fun running around in here.
This is a poster from 1860 of the leading candidates for the Republican presidential nomination. Notice that Lincoln was viewed as a minor candidate -- not one of the top two or three.
Booker T. Washington
Alexander Graham Bell
I don't remember who this is. I just thought it made a fun picture.

The next several pictures are of folk art in the American Art Museum.
This was painted by a guy from Alabama. It is supposed to represent different biblical passages.
Another biblical painting... this one depicts events from the book of the Revelation.
I guess you just have to know the right people to get your painting in the museum.
This is supposed to be Jesus on the cross. Andrea says it looks more like the Pillsbury Dough Boy.
Another piece from the biblical art collection. I think this one was done by a kid. (I know a lot of them LOOK like they were, but this one actually was, I think.)
I liked this one of a train. The artist was from Silver Creek, which isn't too far away from us in PA.
I thought this was one of the more creative pieces we saw.
